About Me
Welcome to City Speaks!

Hi! I'm Adiva Mittal, and this is where I cover stories in the Sacramento Area revolving around urban planning and policy, with a specific interest in sustainable food systems. On this blog, you'll discover how the Sacramento Region can (and does!) develop greener agriculture systems inside of a more equitable community which caters to all.

A little about me: I'm a current sophomore at Granite Bay High School and am a Placer County Resident. In addition to covering stories on my personal blog, I serve as an Assistant Features Editor for the Granite Bay Today. Moreover, I am a co-founder of Youth4Impact, a youth-led nonprofit empowering students to drive social change through volunteerism, community organizing, and advocacy. This past year, my team organized and hosted a wildfire preparedness event with over 250 homeowners featuring CAL FIRE experts, promoting home hardening and fire safety and raising $12,000. Beyond that, I serve as a member of the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls Youth Council and a delegate for my school's Model United Nations team.

When I'm not busy with my other endeavors, I enjoy going on long walks, making any sweet treat that shows up on my Pinterest feed, rewatching my comfort movies for the zillionth time (The Sound of Music, The Pink Panther, Dead Poets Society...), and spending quality time with my family.
